TIE & DYE FABRIC

Tie & Dye Fabric is an unique Weaving Technique. This loom does not need any extra fittings to execute the Design. It all depends on the Weavers Workmanship and the co-operation of the supporting other workers. First the Warp & Weft should be tied with a rubber tube according to the Design and the yarn dyed in the colour according to their requirement. The yarn should be dyed two to five times to get the exact colour combination to match with the design. After that the warp length will be put on loom. The Weaver use the Weft yarn with taking care of the Design. This work needs a lot of concentration. The origin of this work was from Iran and it spread to India and other countries. In India this work is spread in the States of Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Orrissa. Pathan of Gujarat is famous for Double Ikkat patola sarees, in Andhra Pradesh is famous for Telia Rumals and Pochampalli is world famous for this type of work and in Orrissa the Sambalpur and its surroundings are for this Tie & Dye work.
